Q: What training or experience do they have in the close protection industry?

A: Ken Hoggart was trained by Joe LaSorsa and Associates and has operated and instructed in Canada primarily.  Michael Mics has extensive close protection background through former policing, additional training through ASIS International, and operationally with Ken Hoggart and Barry Wilding.  Barry Wilding was also trained by Joe LaSorsa and Associates and has instructed in Canada primarily and still actively operates in Canada and internationally.  For further information on the instructional team, click their name to go to their respective Linked IN page.

Q: Have they delivered other Close Protection (CP) training courses?

A: Yes. Many across Canada from Vancouver to Ottawa.  To read comments from participants from previous courses, click HERE.

Q: Are there any pre-requisites to register and participate?

A: Yes. It is recommended that participates who register for the Close Protection Specialist Course have 2-3 years experience in the security industry in Canada.  Special event security would also be an asset.  Experience in basic security operations / functions is an asset as well.

Q: Do I need to have a licence to take the training?

A: Yes. A valid Security Guard and / or Private Investigators licence in Canada is required to participate.

Q: Are there any physical requirements?

A: Yes. There will be many physical skills taught which will require an average fitness level and coordination.

Q: Are there any other expectations?

A: Yes. participants are expected to arrive on time, be punctual at all times, conduct themselves in a professional manner, and show respect to all participants and instructors.

Q: Do we require any equipment for the CP course?

A: Yes. Mobile Phones: it is recommended for participants to have a reliable cell phone, with an earpiece of some sort (wired or Bluetooth), charging cable, and a backup battery pack (if possible).  There may be some radios available however, live field exercises may require the use of cell phones with specific apps.

A: Registrations will close on May 23, 2023

Q: What is the best way to pay for the course?

A: The preferred payment is e-transfer to the email provided during registration. 50% deposit can be sent to hold your position. Any outstanding balance is due on the 1st day of training.

Q: Can I make payments?

A: Yes. 50% deposit can be made in advance to hold your seat at the training however, any balance owing is due on the 1st day of training.
